Find the right stove for your home

Start with your room, your chimney and where you live. These are the three things that decide which stove will work.

Stove sizing

Not sure where to start?

As a starting point, a room needs about 1kW of heat for every 14 cubic metres. Measure length, width and height, multiply, then divide by 14. Older or draughty rooms need a little more.

Send us your room size and a few photos and we will suggest two or three stoves that fit.

Wood burning stoves, the rules made simple

Wood burners are not being banned. Every new stove sold in Great Britain has had to meet Ecodesign limits since 2022, and in smoke control areas in England you need a DEFRA-exempt stove burning approved fuel. Here is what matters before you buy.

  • Every stove we list states its Ecodesign and smoke control status
  • Fitting is notifiable building work: use a HETAS-registered installer
  • A carbon monoxide alarm is required in the room
  • 1kW per 14 cubic metres A simple starting point for sizing a stove to your room.
  • 2022 Ecodesign standard New stoves sold in Great Britain must meet Ecodesign emission limits.
  • 20% Maximum moisture Burn dry wood. Ready to Burn wood is certified at 20% moisture or less.
  • CO Alarm in the room Building Regulations require a carbon monoxide alarm in the room when a stove or fire is fitted.

All FAQs
Do you deliver everywhere in the UK?

We deliver to England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Delivery is free to England and Wales. Charges for Scotland and Northern Ireland are shown at checkout before you pay. We do not currently deliver to the Isle of Man or the Channel Islands.

How long does delivery take?

Standard items usually arrive within 3 to 7 working days. Large and heavy items such as stoves, fireplaces and pizza ovens usually take 3 to 10 working days in England and Wales, and are delivered to the kerbside, often on a pallet. The courier normally contacts you to book a day.

Do you install stoves or fires?

No. We supply the products. A stove must be fitted by a HETAS-registered installer or signed off by Building Control, and gas appliances must be installed by a Gas Safe registered engineer.

What size stove do I need?

As a starting point, allow about 1kW for every 14 cubic metres of room. Our stove sizing guide explains how to measure and when to go bigger or smaller.

Can I use a wood burner in a smoke control area?

In England you can, if the stove is DEFRA exempt and you burn approved fuel such as dry wood. Exempt stoves are listed in our smoke control stoves collection.

Can I return something if I change my mind?

Yes. You have 30 days from delivery to change your mind, with no restocking fees. Returns after day 14 must be unused and in the original packaging, items made to your specification are excluded, and used or installed appliances may have their refund reduced. See our return and refund policy.
